How to ask about a CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite annual fee
CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite is not the no fee Dividend Visa, and it is not Aventura or Aeroplan. The card page prints $120 for the primary card. The fee summary, marked 2026/10, prints the same $120 and $50 for each authorized user. A first year rebate on the offer page is not a promise to erase a fee that already posted.

The $120 and the $50
Opened 19 October 2026. The CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite card page prints an annual fee of $120, and it says the first year is rebated on that offer. It also prints $50 each for up to 3 additional cards, with the first year rebated. The income line is $60,000 individual or $100,000 household. The purchase and cash interest numbers on that marketing page did not render as digits when the page was opened, so this guide does not copy a rate from the marketing layout.
The CIBC summary of annual interest rates and fees, marked 11995-2026/10, prints CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite at $120 for the primary cardholder and $50 for each authorized user. The same table says Dividend Visa, without Infinite, is not charged a primary or authorized user annual fee. Annual fees post when the application is approved and the card is issued, whether or not you activate, and annually afterwards. For personal cards other than CIBC Select Visa and the Costco cards, that summary prints 21.99% on purchases and 22.99% on cash advances, balance transfers, and convenience cheques, or 21.99% on those cash items for Quebec residents. Dividend Visa Infinite is not in the exception list. If your statement shows a different rate, use the statement. How to ask about a CIBC Aventura fee is a different card at $139 on that same summary. Aeroplan Visa Infinite is how to ask about a CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite fee.
A first year rebate is not every account
The card page welcome block values a first year annual fee rebate at $120, plus a cash back bonus that has its own conditions. That is an offer for people who qualify. The fee summary is the ongoing price, and it says the fee posts even if the card is never activated. If the statement shows $120 and no matching credit, the rebate may not have applied. Ask CIBC which document covers that account. Do not subtract $120 yourself and call the difference a waiver.
An older CIBC notice said some Dividend Visa Infinite accounts had an authorized user fee of $30 or $15, changing to $50 or $25 on August 1, 2026, with the new fee applied the next time the annual fee is charged after that date. The 2026/10 summary prints $50. If your statement still shows $30 or $15, ask which notice applies. Do not assume every additional card is $50 until CIBC confirms the account. Canadian credit card fees keeps the annual fee apart from cash advances and interest.
What to ask
Use the phone number on the statement if it is printed there. Have the date, the fee name, and the amount. Ask whether it is the $120 primary fee or a $50 authorized user fee, and whether a first year rebate was supposed to credit it. Then ask CIBC to review the fee or remove it. They can say no. This page has no success rate. If the answer is no, ask about a product change and the last day to close before the next annual fee. This page does not tell you to close the card. Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank or the card company, and it does not cancel a card or a purchase.
Questions
- Does the no fee Dividend Visa use this $120?
- No. The 2026/10 summary says CIBC Dividend Visa is not charged a primary or authorized user annual fee. Dividend Visa Infinite is the $120 card. Match the word Infinite on the statement.
- Does the fee post if I never activate the card?
- The 2026/10 summary says annual fees post when the card is issued, whether or not you activate, and annually afterwards. A first year rebate on the offer page is a separate question. Ask CIBC if both appear.
- Is every additional card $50?
- The card page and the 2026/10 summary print $50. A CIBC change notice said some existing accounts had $30 or $15 until the next annual fee after August 1, 2026. If the statement shows a different dollar, ask CIBC which notice is on that account.
- Will CIBC remove an annual fee it already charged if I ask?
- They might, and they might not. Asking is a request. Nothing on this page says CIBC has to waive a fee already on the statement.
