How to ask about a TD Platinum Travel Visa fee

The TD Platinum Travel Visa is the lower annual fee travel card next to First Class Travel Visa Infinite. TD's page prints $89 a year, $35 for the first additional card, and no minimum annual income. A first year rebate still has conditions. Asking TD to remove a fee already charged is a request.

The fee on the card page

Opened 19 October 2026. The TD Platinum Travel Visa card page prints an annual fee of $89. Interest on purchases is 21.99%. Interest on cash advances is 22.99%. The first additional cardholder is $35. Subsequent additional cardholders are $0. Eligibility on that page is that you are a Canadian resident and the age of majority in your province or territory. TD's own FAQ on the page says this card does not have a minimum annual income requirement. That is different from First Class Travel Visa Infinite, which prints a $60,000 personal or $100,000 household income line. First Class is how to ask about a TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite fee.

The apply section lists 1-855-315-4325. Use the number on the statement if one is printed there, because a statement number and a sales number are not always the same desk. Figures can change. A welcome bonus is not the annual fee. Do not multiply $89 by 12.

The first year rebate and the bank plan

The special offer includes an annual fee rebate for the first year. TD says the primary cardholder must activate the card and make the first purchase within the first 3 months after account opening. The first additional cardholder first year rebate requires that you add that cardholder while the offer is in effect. TD says the offer may be changed, withdrawn, or extended, and that it cannot be combined with another offer unless TD says so.

The page also says you can get an annual fee rebate every year with a TD All-Inclusive Banking Plan. The card page does not print that plan's monthly fee. Ask TD whether the account you have qualifies. A monthly fee on a TD chequing account is how to waive a TD monthly fee. Other Canadian card fees are on Canadian credit card fees.

What to ask

Have the date, the fee name, and the amount. Ask whether the line is the $89 primary fee, the $35 additional card fee, or interest. Ask whether the first year rebate or the All-Inclusive rebate applies. TD can say no. This page has no success rate.

If the answer is no, ask the last day you can close or switch so the next annual fee is not charged. A refund after you cancel is on can you get a credit card annual fee refunded when you cancel. This page does not tell you to close the card.
