Statement codes and confusing lines

A confusing line is usually a prefix plus a name. The prefix is the network, the reseller, or the bank's label. The name is the store, the app, or the biller. This page lists the code guides and every charge guide, with the statement text that guide already prints.

How to use this page

Copy the description exactly, including the star, the date, and any phone number. Find that text in the groups below. Where a guide already prints the letters people see, those letters are in parentheses. If a guide does not print a line, match the company name and then the date and the amount in your email.

SP * is a Shopify store purchase. DRI* is the prefix NVIDIA and Logitech print for Digital River. FSPRG and FS* fsprg.com are FastSpring's own examples. PURCHASE AUTHORIZED ON carries the debit approval date. CHECKCARD and POS DEBIT are debit card purchases. ACH and a Canadian pre-authorized debit are a company pulling money from the bank account. Those six are the first group.

Company charges, from streaming to fitness, follow. A line you still cannot place is unknown charge on a statement. Two posted amounts are charged twice. A hold that has not posted is pending vs posted. The company list by category is also on what is this charge on my statement.

Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines so you can match a short name to a date and an amount. It does not call the bank, and it does not dispute a charge.

Questions

What if my code is not listed?
Read the merchant name after the prefix and search your email for the amount and the date. Then use the unknown charge guide. A code this page does not name can still be a real purchase.
Is every short line fraud?
No. Resellers, card networks, and banks shorten names. Match the date and the amount before you dispute the line.
Does Expenvo decode every merchant?
No. It lists the description from your statement. You match it to a guide or to a receipt.
