What a Starlink charge means on your statement
A Starlink line is SpaceX's satellite internet service, the dish kit, shipping, or a fee tied to that account. Starlink's terms do not print one required card descriptor. Match the date and the amount to the bill in your Starlink account before you dispute the line.

What you are paying for
Starlink's terms of service, opened 17 October 2026, say you authorize Starlink to charge an approved payment method, including bank to bank payments and credit or debit cards where those are available, for charges under the agreement, including taxes and fees. Use of a card is also subject to your card agreement, including fees the card issuer may add. If the bank or card number changes, you update it in the Starlink Customer Portal so the service is not suspended and so refunds can be processed.
Bills are provided monthly, and only through the Starlink Customer Portal. A dispute on the Starlink bill is handled in that account. You still pay undisputed amounts on time. If you do not pay, the service can be suspended until the overdue amounts are paid. Shipping and handling charges apply and are non refundable. The terms do not print a monthly service price on that page, so this guide does not invent one. The amount on your invoice is the amount to compare with the statement.
The terms also do not print a required statement line such as STARLINK*. If your statement shows the Starlink name, that is the brand. If it shows a card network shortening, or a bank label, use the date and the amount in the portal. Statement codes is the index for short prefixes. A name you still cannot place is unknown charge on a statement.
How to cancel the service
The terms say that, subject to any service commitment and change fee, you can stop the recurring monthly payment and cancel services at any time in your Starlink account in the customer portal. To avoid being billed for the following month, you must cancel before your invoice statement is generated. Service staying on until the end of a period you already paid is the practical result of canceling before the next invoice. The terms do not promise a refund of a month you already started, except in the cases they name.
Those refund cases are limited. A deposit paid before the kit ships is fully refundable from the account, and asking for it gives up your priority position. You may return an undamaged, untampered, unmodified kit and accessories bought on starlink.com within 30 days of the payment due date for a full refund, including when you cannot get service because of the view of the sky. If you rented a kit, you must return it in good condition within 30 days of cancellation or you will be charged the full retail price of the kit. A timely return also refunds the first month's service fee or rental fee, as applicable, the monthly kit access fee, and the demand surcharge. Follow the return instructions in the portal. This page does not add a refund the terms do not print.
Canceling in the portal is the step that stops the next Starlink invoice. Calling the card issuer to dispute a bill you still owe can suspend service under the terms if the dispute is resolved against you or you do not pay. If the charge is on Apple or Google because you paid that way, the store's own subscription list is the other place to look. How to cancel a subscription keeps those paths apart.
