Monthly checking account fees by bank (US)

The everyday checking account is not the same price at every bank. On 16 October 2026, Chase Total Checking and Wells Fargo Everyday Checking print $15, and Bank of America Advantage Plus prints $12.00. You can often bring that fee to $0 by meeting one condition the bank names. Capital One 360 Checking and Huntington Asterisk-Free Checking print no monthly fee. Match the account name before you use a row.

The monthly fee and how to avoid it

This table is the monthly fee for one common everyday account at each bank, plus the waiver that bank prints. A premium account at the same bank can cost more. Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo monthly fees walks through the first three in more detail. Overdraft fees are in US overdraft fees by bank.

Opened 16 October 2026. Amounts are US dollars. One waiver is enough unless the page says otherwise.

Banks not in this table yet

Regions is not here. Its LifeGreen Checking fee PDF did not open on 16 October 2026, so this page does not copy a monthly fee for Regions. How to waive a Regions monthly fee is the Regions page already on this site. This table does not copy a number from that page.

A different account at the same bank can cost more. Match the name on the statement. Read the account on its own page: Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, U.S. Bank, PNC, Capital One 360, Truist, TD in the US and in Canada, Citizens, and Huntington.

Questions

Is every US checking account $15 a month?
No. On 16 October 2026, Chase Total Checking and Wells Fargo Everyday Checking printed $15. Bank of America Advantage Plus printed $12.00. PNC Virtual Wallet Spend printed $7.00. Capital One 360 Checking and Huntington Asterisk-Free Checking printed no monthly fee.
Do I need every waiver at once?
No. Each row above is written as the bank prints it. Where the page says any one condition is enough, meeting one of them is what that page describes.
Why are two Citi accounts in one row?
Citi's compare page prints $15 for Regular Checking and $5 for Access Checking. Collapsing those into one number would hide a fee the page actually prints.
Why is Regions missing?
The LifeGreen fee PDF did not open on 16 October 2026. This table does not fill in a number from an older file or from memory.
