How to download a Marcus statement

Where the PDF is

The Marcus FAQ says you log in and select Documents. Statements go out monthly and include the previous month's activity. A second answer on the same FAQ says to log in and click View Documents to open printable PDFs of statements, trade confirmations, and tax documents. If you see one of those labels and not the other, use the documents control that is on your screen. The FAQ also says the Marcus app can open account statements and tax documents.

Log in from the Log in link at the upper right, or from marcus.com/us/en/login. You enter an email and a password. Create or reset password is on that page if you do not have one. Marcus says it may ask for an SSN or ITIN as an extra identity check. That request is the bank's security step, not a statement fee.

Paperless statements and tax forms

Customers who only have online savings accounts, certificates of deposit, or both may enroll in electronic statements and account communications. For a joint account, only the primary owner may enroll at the time the account is opened. If you agreed to the eSign agreement when you opened the account, Marcus says you are already enrolled. To switch an existing online savings or CD account from paper to electronic, visit Profile at marcus.com or call. The US savings and CD line on the contact page is 1-855-730-7283, 24 hours a day. From outside the US the contact page lists 1-212-357-0026.

1099-INT forms are sent by 31 January to the primary owner's mailing address. You can also download the 1099-INT from Documents. Marcus says the form is available for download by 31 January as well. If it is not there by 15 February, contact Marcus. A 1099 is a tax form. It is not a substitute for the monthly statement. The FAQ also says the full account number is on the monthly statement, and on the Account Details page after you select Show next to Account and Routing number. Use the statement when you need a PDF a lender will accept. A screen capture of the balance is not the statement.

If a line looks wrong

The FAQ says to call 1-855-730-7283 about an error on an online savings statement, any day, any time. You can also write to Goldman Sachs Bank USA, PO Box 70379, Philadelphia, PA 19176-0379. Have the statement month and the amount. Marcus does not print a monthly maintenance fee on the FAQ answers used here, so this guide does not invent one.
