This page is Santander Bank in the United States, not a Santander bank in another country. Simply Right Checking prints the overdraft dollars. The $15 paid item fee

Opened 21 October 2026. The figures are from Santander's Simply Right Checking page. Santander says it lowered overdraft fees from $35 to $15 and eliminated the Item Returned Fee. The Insufficient Funds Item Paid Fee is $15. You will not be charged a Paid Item Fee more than 3 times per business day.

Safety Net waives that paid item fee when a transaction overdraws the account by $100 or less. The sustained overdraft fee is also $15. It applies when the account stays negative for 5 business days in a row and the overdrawn balance at the end of the first day was more than $100. Santander assesses it on the 6th business day. Whether an overdraft is paid is discretionary.

The page says more detail is in the Personal Deposit Account Fee Schedule. Use the number on your statement for a fee question. The 877-726-0631 number on this product page is for activating a debit card, not a fee quote.

The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the institution.

What is not this fee

Simply Right's monthly fee is $10, waived with one qualifying transaction in the calendar month or if any owner is under 26. A paper statement is $3. A domestic non-Santander ATM withdrawal is $3, or $2 if any owner is under 26. Those lines are not the $15 overdraft fee. Select and Essential are different monthly fees on the checking comparison. This page does not copy an overdraft dollar for those two accounts, because this product page does not print one.
