Affinity Credit Union NSF fee
Affinity Credit Union prints the NSF total on its miscellaneous service fees brochure. The line is $48, and the brochure says that includes a $43 NSF fee plus a $5 overdraft fee. The $48 charge
Opened 21 October 2026. The figures are from Affinity Credit Union's miscellaneous service fees brochure, effective 1 November 2024. NSF charges are listed as $48, and the line says that includes a $43 NSF fee plus a $5 overdraft fee.
The same brochure prints overdraft as $5 to the account, $5 for each additional item, $3 for a manual or automatic transfer, and interest of 25% per annum. Receiving an Interac e-Transfer is no fee. An Interac e-Transfer trace is $11. Those are not the NSF total. A separate Mastercard disclosure prints its own NSF figure for the card. Do not use that card line as the deposit-account fee.

How to avoid it
The brochure does not print a dollar cushion that waives the $48. The charge is the NSF line. The way to stay off that line is to have enough in the account for the cheque or debit before it is presented.
The overdraft rows are a different product. They print $5 to the account, $5 for each extra item, $3 for a transfer, and 25% interest per year. That is not a free backup. The contact centre number on Affinity's FAQ page is 1.866.863.6237. The brochure itself does not label that number as an NSF desk.
