Woodforest overdraft fee

The $32 fee
Opened 21 October 2026. The dollar is on the Woodforest overdraft services page and on the fee schedule PDF. An overdraft item that Woodforest pays is $32. The page says it will charge no more than 3 overdraft item fees per day.
The fee box on that page says there is no fee if the item overdraws the account by $1 or less. The consumer overdraft FAQ says the fee is not charged when the item overdraws the account by less than $1. Those two sentences are not the same cutoff. This page quotes both and does not collapse them into one rule.
A returned NSF item has no charge on the fee schedule. ATM and everyday debit card transactions have no overdraft fee unless you opt in. An account sweep, which moves money from another Woodforest account, is $5. The overdraft page lists 1-877-968-7962.

How to avoid it
The $32 is for an item Woodforest pays. A returned item is a different row, and the schedule prints no charge for that return. The daily cap stops a fourth $32 fee on the same day. It does not remove the first three.
The $1 cushion is the part to read twice, because the fee box and the FAQ do not use the same words. If your shortfall is about a dollar, ask Woodforest which sentence applies to your account before you treat the fee as wrong. Opting out of debit card and ATM coverage stops those fees going forward. It does not remove a fee already on the statement, and a check or ACH item can still be paid and charged.
