The $25 fee and the missing cap
Opened 21 October 2026. The overdraft service disclosure says America First will charge a $25 fee each time it pays an overdraft. It says there is no limit to the total fees it can charge for overdrawing the account. There is no fee to keep the Overdraft Service on the account. There is no fee if you never use it.
Standard coverage pays checks and other transactions that use the checking account number, and automatic bill payments. Everyday debit card transactions and ATM transactions are not paid unless you ask. Payment is at America First's discretion. If it does not pay the item, the transaction is declined. A line of credit may be less expensive than the Overdraft Service. The disclosure says to ask about that plan.
The overdraft service page says a $25 charge per presentment is assessed if both checking and the line of credit are exhausted and the account goes negative. There is no cost to opt in for debit card items. Debit card transactions are not paid unless you opt in. The page lists 1-800-999-3961.

The rate and fee schedule PDF lists Overdraft Service Fee and Overdraft EFT Fee as two rows, both $25.00 per presentment. This page does not merge those names. The rate section of that PDF says effective 21 October 2026. The fee schedule footer reads 05/25.
Premium Checking is $6 on the 1st of each month. That fee is waived for the calendar month when all three of these are true: a combined $500 from direct deposits into savings and/or checking, 20 or more settled Visa debit and/or credit card transactions, and a $1,500 average checking balance. Classic Checking and Regular Checking print no monthly fee. An inactive account is $2.50 a month when there have been no transactions for 12 months or more.
An incoming wire is $10.00. A domestic outgoing wire is $15.00. An international outgoing wire is $30.00. The PDF says more fees can apply when an intermediary bank or a foreign currency exchange is used. A stop payment is $15.00 per request. A non-America First ATM transaction is $1.50, and the ATM operator may add its own surcharge. A foreign transaction fee is 1% of a transaction made in, or at a merchant located in, a foreign country.
